Well done to the director. The scene with the fountain and the bloodt, bit vague I know, but amazing. Truly drawn in. Scared the hell out of me the first time I saw it - when I was 12!

This is a bizarre film, but I love it! Good twists in the story, and the special effects are pretty good.

The effects were fabulous. Talking about scary, watching it the first time it definitely is.

dina (9 out of 10 )
This movie was the best horror I think.

This movie was an FX movie. It lacked everything the original, directed by Robert Wise (1963), did so well. Scared the hell out of you. And it was filmed in black and white with little if any special effects! If you want to see good character development and a storyline which follows the spirit of Shirley Jackson's novel, give Robert Wise's movie a watch.

This film is terrible. And not even in a good, fun way. I couldn't have fun with it, and I'm not hard to please on that front, especially in a horror film. And this is made all the worse as it is a lesser film than what was done so beautifully back in 1963 with so much less. All it was was a showcase for effects that looked bad at the time, yet alone in 2016, and further proving that showing doesn't make for a scarier film.
