Jack, Sam and Teal'c fall down the ram. They're wet and seem
confused. They sit down at the bottom of the ramp.

We went thought the Stargate at precisely
0700 this morning. The world we found
on the other side appeared to be uninhibited.
The team are being filmed while they give their accound of the
mission. The person being interviewed changes throughout the
scene
HAMMOND
So there was no immediate sign of danger.
SAM
There were these holes,volcanic gas.
I took some soil sample to test for
minerals. Daniel.
HAMMOND
Take your time.
JACK
He said, he said, Colonel, help me.And
then he was gone.
HAMMOND

JACK
Engulfed in fire, sir.
HAMMOND
There was nothing you could have done,
Colonel.
JACK
No, I swear to God, I tried to get to
him, but the heat. It blasted towards
us.
HAMMOND
And what did you do then?
JACK
There was a body of water nearby, it
was like a, lake, or sea, maybe. We
all submerged ourselves, that's what
saved us.
HAMMOND
And by then?
JACK
By then Daniel was gone, there was nothing
nothing left sir. I ordered the team
to evacuate.
HAMMOND
We'll send a team through to recover
to body.
JACK
No sir! It's...too volatile, sir. The
whole area was very unstable.
HAMMOND
It's a hard thing, to lose a member
of your team. I have been through it
my self, if there's anything I.
JACK

HAMMOND

Jack leaves the room
Hammond is walking down the stairs when Janet approaches
JANET
General? I have a few more test to run
, but I got the results back from my
initial exams.
HAMMOND

JANET
"Well apart from some small contusions,
photosensitivity , which I can probably
explain to the volcanic gasses in the
atmosphere, they're fine. Frankly General,
I am more worried about the post-traumatic
symptoms.
HAMMOND
When your lives depend on each other,
you form a very deep bond, there's is
a very dangerous job.
JANET
Yes of course sir, It's just, I can't
help but be concerned. Call it intuition.
HAMMOND
The best thing we can do is get them
on another mission. I plan on putting
them back on rotation as soon as I can
assign a replacement for Dr Jackson.
JANET
No sir, I don't agree, I want to keep
them under observation for several days
at least.
HAMMOND
My experience Doctor, it's best for
all members of the surviving team to
go.
JANET
No sir, with all do respect, your experience
does not include gate travel to another
planet. Nether does anyone else's experience
for that matter. Several days, I insist.
HAMMOND
Very well, I'll put them on stand-down
for 7 days.
JANET

A memorial service for Daniel, is held in the gateroom
Four soldiers enter. Two of them hold flags. The other two are
holding guns. Jack begins the eulogy.
HAMMOND
Colonel.
JACK
Daniel Jackson made this place happen.
As a member of SG-1, he was our voice,
our conscious. He was a very courageous
man. He was a good man. For those of
us lucky enough to know him, he was
also a friend.
The flag is folded and handed to Jack, who then hands hit to
Teal'c. Sam and Jack go up the ramp towards the gate and pick
up a wreath that is sitting at the top. They place it into the
event horizon.
HAMMOND
We commend Daniel Jackson's spirit,
to the Universe he opened up for us.
I pledge to continue our journey of
discovery in his memory.May he rest
in peace.
Offworld.
Daniel is laying on the floor, in a room which appears to be
under water. He's soaking wet.
DANIEL
Jack? Sam, Teal'c! Anyone?
Jack holds a wake, at his house. Lot's of people are there. Jack
is talking to a woman
JACK
So were sitting around eating to Abydonian,
cuisine. Daniel tells Sha're, he's going
to go show me this cartouche thing,
but before we leave she stands up and
plants this kiss on him that makes his
face disappear for a day.
Sam and Teal'c enter the house
TEAL'C
I do not understand this ritual.
SAM

TEAL'C
On Chu'lak, it is custom, when someone
dies, we do not eat for three days and
three nights.
SAM
Yeah well, a wake is like a big party,
it's supposed to give the departed a
jolly send off.
JACK
Sam, Teal'c, glad you made it, something

There's food upstairs.
Jack pours a beer for Sam. As he watches the bubbles, he begins
to have a flashback. Daniel is standing in the middle of a fire.
DANIEL
Help! Jack! Help! Help!
He puts the beer down and rushes out of the room
Back with Daniel
He is wringing the water from his clothes. As he turns he is
confronted by some type of aquatic alien. It's head is fish like
in appearance.
DANIEL
Daniel. Daniel Jackson. You? My friends,
the others who came here with me.
The alien opens up a panel in the wall. Some text is hidden behind
it and the monster points. Daniels not sure what he's supposed
to do, so the alien points again. Daniel shrugs and walks over
to the wall.
DANIEL
It's a very old Earth writing. It's
Cuneiform. It's the first kind of writing
we ever found on...on my world.Okay.
It's Arcadian, not Sumerian, so, let
me think. Reveal, Fate, Omoroca.' Reveal
fate Omoroca, reveal fate Omoroca? Omoroca,
what is that? That's you?"No something
else? Reveal fat Omoroca, I'm sorry
I don't know what your want me to do.
The alien is angry. He lifts his hand up and Daniel is thrown
against the wall
DANIEL

Jack's house. Jack is outside the house hitting a ball with a
hockey stick. He has a net that is by a car. The net falls over
and Jack loses his temper and puts the bat through the window
of Hammonds car.
JACK
Somebody get this damn car out of here!
HAMMOND
What on your mind, Colonel?
JACK
Retirement, actually.
HAMMOND
You don't mean that.
JACK
I think I do.
HAMMOND
Well I can't let you do that. I've go
an assignment for SG-1. Dr Jackson's
apartment has to be cleaned out by Stargate
personnel, National Security has said
it, your probably the closes thing he
had to a family. It's not an order,
it's a request.
JACK

HAMMOND

JACK

HAMMOND

Danny seems to have made some advances because he now has a much
BIGGER wall of writing to decipher.
DANIEL

Sha're is gone, Jack says we'll find

Teal'c is looking at a game of Jackal and the Hound
TEAL'C
This is a game from ancient Egypt, it
is called the Jackal and the Hound.
It belonged to a Pharaohs daughter,
Daniel Jackson and I once played, he
said it made him feel like he was touching
history.
Sam looks into the tropical fish tank and watches the bubbles
rise to the surface. She has a flashback

Nem appears and walks towards them. He looks at Daniel and put's
his hand on Teal'cs stomach. He then walks back to Daniel and
bends down to write something on the floor
DANIEL
It's Cuneiform. I think he wants to
know if we are from the world that built,
Babylon.
Daniel writes another sign on the floor
DANIEL
I'm Daniel, this is Jack.
He dives down as nem uses a weapon that disables the team
SAM

In the flashback, the three of them are swimming to shore, without
